Now you guys want… ITEM LISTS?!?!

September 24, 2008 at 7:01 am | In Dragonfable | Leave a Comment

Recently viewers have been searching for the full list of items (daggers, staffs, swords, etc.)

I’ll start getting those typed in, but it will take a while. I may have to spend an extra month on blogging about Dragonfable…

“Why don’t the Rogue and Warrior skills show up?”

September 21, 2008 at 1:28 pm | In Dragonfable | Leave a Comment

The reason why only the Mage skills show up is because my main character in the game is a Mage; while I’m desperately trying to level up my Warrior and Rogue, it will take a very long time before I am able to fully announce all the skills.

However because there are suddenly more and more people who are looking for Rogue and Warrior skills, I will post the ones that I’ve already unlocked. Hopefully that will help a little bit.

Comments are more helpful than cut-off text

September 20, 2008 at 10:24 am | In Random | 1 Comment

I thank you guys all for a jump in views – 11 views so far today, which considering I have only gotten about 2-7 in the last few days, is great to know.

If you want to know what it’s like to keep up a WordPress blog, it’s quite interesting actually. I can view the search criteria people have used to get to World of Graphix, see how many people have viewed my blog, the most popular posts and also the links people clicked to get to World of Graphix.

However there are some times when people type in looooooooooooooong search terms, like “What are the Death Knight moves in Dragonfable?” Not that I’m so lazy I can’t read. The blog will show about 30-40 characters of the search term, so when I look at it the search term looks like this:

What are the Death Knight moves in Drago

Well, whoever typed this in got lucky – I can still figure just about what this person wants to know. But what if it was something like this?  “In what level does a mage unlock the Fireball move?”

Last time I got that it turned up like this-

In what level does a mage un

Then I go, “?!?!??!!”

Luckily it was a “top search” so I saw the entire term.

Now I’m not blaming any of you. Normally I wouldn’t be pushing viewers to post comments, but I think this is a bit of a problem. All I want to ask of you guys is, “If you just want to ask, ‘Where’s Galanoth?’ Go ahead and type it in. If you want to give me some long, full-sentence search term like ‘In Dragonfable, when does a mage unlock the special attack Final Blast?’ then I would reccommend that you type it up as a comment.

To post a comment, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the post and type in your comment. Once you submit it it will automatically appear. If the comment box isn’t there when you scroll down, click on the post’s title and then scroll down. If you wish to post on a page, again, click on the page name and scroll down.

I hope that will make life easier and more satisfying for everyone :)

September 9, 2008 at 5:53 pm | In Dragonfable | Leave a Comment

Dragonfable

NPCs (or Non-playable characters) are characters implemented into Dragonfable which help to carry along plots and storylines. This post lists all the significant NPCs in the game, and possibly the insignificant ones, if I’m not too lazy. It will be updated as time goes on.

Significant NPCs

Artix Krieger, the Paladin – Basically the icon of the entire Artix Entertainment company (Artix?). According to the game, he is a kind paladin with a passion for battling the Undead. Artix is found in both Amityvale and the Necropolis, and he trains Paladins.

Galanoth, the Dragonslayer – Galanoth’s parents and village had been destroyed by the fire dragon, Akriloth. As a result he spends his life hunting down and slaying dragons. Galanoth is found in Dragesvard, and trains Dragonslayers.

Valencia, the Treasure Hunter

Robina the Hood – She is the leader of the Band of Merry Women (If you’re not sure, go talk to her in the game) and hands out the Quad-Force quest.

Twilly and Zorbak, the moglins

Cysero, the Mad Magical Weaponsmith

Warlic, the Blue Mage

Lady Celestia

Rhubarb, the pirate

Zhoom, the bounty hunter

Ballyhoo, the person who brings back stuff…

Dragonfable Stats, Pets and Rolls

September 5, 2008 at 6:52 am | In Dragonfable | Leave a Comment

Dragonfable

Quite a few stats can be learned in Dragonfable:

STR (Strength) determines how much extra damage you can deal with melee weapons.

INT (Intelligence) determines how much extra damage you can deal with magic weapons. It also increases the maximum amount of MP a character has.

DEX (Dexterity) determines how much extra damage you can deal with ranged attacks.

END (Endurance) increases the maximum amount of HP a character has.

CHA (Charisma) increases the training of all the pets owned by the character.

LUK (Luck; I thought you could have guessed) affects all rolls in a small way.

However these stats can be leveled up at the expense of Gold, the currency in the game, and Stat Points. Stat Points can be earned when a character levels up.

Rolls occur in various parts of the game. The player clicks on a button, and the button randomly selects a number from 1 to 99. The object of the roll is to roll a number equal to or higher than, say, 15, to finish a quest or increase one’s skill level by one. LUK helps to add a few points to the roll to help the player achieve the number required.

Pets are little creatures which can be equipped to do a bit of extra damage or assist the player in some other way. It will be updated as time goes on, and I’m still trying to jam it all in, so please bear with me!

Dragonfable Elements and Attack Types

September 4, 2008 at 3:13 pm | In Dragonfable | 4 Comments

In Dragonfable there are 14 elements, each of which has a weakness and a strength. All damage-dealing and stat-raising items have an element, which often affects the way it works or is used.

Water  Fire  Stone  Wind  Energy  Darkness  Light  Nature  Wood  Metal  Clockwork Poison/Disease  Bacon  Silver  Heart (which appears during Valentine’s day)

(I may have missed one, please comment if I did!)

During battle there are also attack types – melee, magic and range. Melee attacks are attacks made from up close (sword and dagger attacks are melee attacks; most pets also deal melee damage.) Magic attacks are attacks that involve magic (staff and wand attacks are magic attacks, even if the character uses a staff or wand to whack someone’s head.) Range attacks are attacks dealt from far away (not including magic), such as shooting an arrow or throwing knives.

Sometimes NPCs may not have any type at all.

Dragonfable Classes

September 4, 2008 at 2:11 pm | In Dragonfable | 3 Comments

Dragonfable

Due to the fact it is still expanding the amount of classes (kinds of people your character can be, ninja, warrior, pirate, etc.) in the game has yet to be firmly determined. However the amount of Base classes has stood firm since the game’s beginning.

Base classes are the three classes in which the player is allowed to choose from at the beginning of the game. Only one may be selected, and once it is selected that character cannot become a different base class (example, a Warrior cannot temporarily become a Rogue and change back into a Warrior.) There are three base classes.

As time goes on and new classes are added, this post will be updated.

The Warrior or fighter was the original class. Warriors can do combo attacks, however only to one enemy at a time. They have a move which allows them to hit all enemies at once but it requires a 2-turn cooldown. This class is powerful against single opponents but is weaker against multiple opponents. Warriors mainly train Strength and Dexterity. In addition they sometimes speak out something in dialogue when using certain moves (“Hahaha….” or “I am ready! Bring it on!”). Warriors are the strongest of the three, and usually wield swords, axes or maces. In addition Warriors are the slowest-learning of the three classes. They can wield staffs and daggers, however they cannot use them effectively. Warriors can learn these special moves:

Warcry (5 MP, lvl2, 10% boost for 5 turns); Double Attack (lvl2, hits twice, only available after successful attack); Triple Attack (lvl3, hits thrice, only available after successful Double Attack); Defensive Stance (20 MP, lvl4, +80 Block for 2 turns); Mana Strike (5 MP, lvl4, attacks target’s MP); Stun (20 MP, lvl5, stuns target for 3 turns); Multi-Strike (10 MP, lvl5, ranged metal dmg to all enemies); Throw (10 MP, lvl6, ranged metal dmg); Trip (20 MP, lvl7, prevents target from running away, -100 Flee resist); Aimed (5 MP, lvl8, deals attack that gets +20 bonus); Power (10 MP, lvl9, deals 150% dmg attack); Strength Strike (10 MP, lvl10, reduces target’s damage by 20%); Wound (5 MP, lvl11, weak metal damage for 10 turns); Final Blow (5 MP, lvl18, gauranteed critical hit).

The Mage learns new skills the quickest. Though unable to perform combo attacks mages can attack all enemies at once without any cooldown. Four of their special moves involve using different elemental attacks. Mages usually wield staffs or wands. If they carry a different weapon they will perform a melee attack instead of a ranged Magic one. Mages are not as strong as warriors as they have a more defensive role. With a large variety of different attacks, mages harness the elements. In addition they have a good edge against multiple enemies due to their MageFury attack, however are weaker against single enemies. Unlike the Warrior and Rogue mages do not speak out dialogue during battle. Mages can learn these special moves:

Arcane Shield (5 MP, lvl2, +80 Block for 2 turns), Power Boost (5 MP, lvl2, +15% damage boost for 5 turns), Meditate (lvl4, restores 10 MP), Fireball (5 MP, lvl6, casts a fire attack), Ice Strike (5 MP, lvl6, casts an ice attack), Wind Strike (5 MP, lvl6, casts a wind attack), Lightning (5 MP, lvl6, casts an energy attack), Sleep (20 MP, lvl6, puts opponent to sleep for 3 rounds), Blind (10 MP, lvl7, -50 bonus for target), Mana Blackout (5 MP, lvl8, damages opponent’s mana), MageFury (10 MP, lvl10, attacks all enemies), Root (20 MP, lvl12, stops a foe from running away, -100 flee for 19 turns), Acid (5 MP, lvl15, 3-5 Fire damage for 10 turns), Final Blast (5 MP, lvl18, gauranteed critical hit.) Note that unlike the Warrior and Rogue, Mages can attack all enemies at once (use Magefury) without having to wait for cooldown.

Rogues are a swift and clever class that wear lightweight armor. They have less defensive moves than a mage, but less power than a warrior; Rogues are a balance of the two. They also sometimes speak something out, always when using their immobility move, Distract (“You dropped your wallet!” or “Your shoe is untied.”) Rogues often carry daggers. If one dagger is equipped according to the inventory, Rogues will carry two identical daggers, and attack with both of them in battle, one at a time (although one hit with a dagger will deal 60% of the damage shown on the weapon’s description.) If they wield any other kind of weapon, they will only attack once. Rogues can hit up to 4 times to any one enemy.

Stealth (5 MP, lvl2, +10% crit for 10 turns); Rapid (lvl3, hits 4 times); Surprise (lvl4, extra damage attack, available after Stealth is used); Smoke (20 MP, lvl5, +80% Dodge for 2 turns); Distract (20 MP, lvl6, prevents the opponent from taking action for 3 turns); Poison (5 MP, lvl7, 3-5 Poison damage for 10 turns); Throw (10 MP, lvl8, ranged metal damage); Mind Numb (5 MP, lvl9, attacks target’s MP); Tangle (20 MP, lvl10, stops opponent from running away, -100 Flee resist); Aimed (5 MP, lvl11, attacks with +20 bonus); Wild Daggers (10 MP, lvl11, attacks all enemies with ranged metal damage); Blind (10 MP, lvl12, -10% Bonus to target for 10 turns); Potion (lvl15, 15% chance of finding a potion on the ground and using it); Final Strike (5 MP, lvl18, gauranteed crit)

The following are additional classes in the game and will be updated soon. Note that the DragonLord, Guardian and Dread Pirate classes are for Dragon Amulet holders only. Other classes are available to free players, however they can only access half of the skills there are to be learned.

Ninja - Ninjas are, in the game, rivals to the pirates. According to Thyton Ninjas are dedicated to meditation and training, and believe that once the body and mind are mastered one is unstoppable. They seek the Jewel of the Four Winds (which is the Wind Orb). Thyton, found in the Shadow of the Wind Village, will teach and train the Ninja armor for you if you bring him Wind Scrolls, which can be obtained from most of his quests. The moves a Ninja can use are listed below.

Free Account – Fade (5 MP, +80 Dodge for 2 turns); Retsu (20 MP, stuns target for 3 rounds); Multi (5 MP, hits all enemies); Inbo (20 MP, gauranteed critical hit); Qi (10 MP, -30 boost to all enemies for 5 turns); Rin (+10 INT for 5 rounds); Kai (40 MP, +10 resist to Darkness).

Dragon Amulet – Doku (5 MP, poisons target for 10 turns); Metsubishi (-30 bonus to target for 5 turns); Last Resort (20 MP, increased defense but loss of HP); Slash (5 MP, multiple hit slash attack); Sha (15 MP, 20% heal over 4 turns); Mimic (30 MP, mimic’s enemy’s last attack); DeathWish (30 MP, mega attack, can only be used if Fade is in effect).

Pirate

Ranger – Rangers are, according to Zhoom, solitary nomads who roam from place to place. Perhaps they are like bounty hunters. Rangers embrace the art of swordfighting and archery, which, due to their skills in the use of the bow and arrow, makes them different from other classes in the game. Rangers can also summon a hawk to attack. Zhoom, found in the Sandsea, will teach and train the Ranger armor for you if you bring him Ancient Treasures, which can be obtained from any of his quests. The moves a Ranger can use are listed below.

Free Account – Shield (5 MP, +80 Block for 2 turns); Poison Arrow (5 MP, 6-12 Poison damage for 10 turns), Stunning Shot (20 MP, stuns target for 3 rounds); MultiShot (10 MP, hits all enemies); Accurate Shot (10 MP, fires an arrow that receives +100 to hit); Summon Hawk (10 MP, summons hawk to attack target twice), Stat Shot (5 MP, lowers target’s STR, DEX, INT by 2 for 4 turns).

Dragon Amulet – FlashBang (10 MP, -70 hit to target); Dual Wield (Available after a successful attack, probably hits twice); Cooldown Shot (20 MP, -3 to all cooldowns); Debilitating Arrow (10 MP, target does -30% damage for 3 turns); Weakness seeking (15 MP, probably allows current weapon to do extra damage); Flurry (20 MP, 5 shots that hit random enemies); Purge (20 MP, probably gauranteed critical hit).

Death Knight

Paladin – Paladins are warriors who fight for the “good” side in games. Artix, one of the NPCs in the game, is a Paladin and will teach and train the Paladin Armor for you if you bring him Undead Slayer Badges, which can be obtained from the Save Moonridge! quest in the Necropolis. Paladins use moves that are very similar to the Warrior’s, in exception to moves which weaken the opponent against Light and a skill which heals 20% of their HP. The moves a paladin can use are listed below:

Free Account – Heal (35 MP, restores 20% HP); Bless (20 MP, chance of healing HP on attack); Mana Boost (chance of recovering MP on attack); Pacify (22 MP, chance to stun on attack); Weaken (22 MP; 20% chance to weaken opponent against light on attack); Blinding Light (22 MP, 20% chance for -50 to opponent’s hit); Protection from Darkness (22 MP, 20% protection from darkness for 4 turns).

Dragon Amulet – Spinstrike (20 MP, 140% dmg attack); Ultima Combo (20 MP, frenzy of powerful attacks); Phoenix Song (20 MP, 3x attack that does 120% damage to undead); Spear Toss (30 MP, summons a spear of Light); Swords of Eternal Light (20 MP, 5 hits that targets any one enemy); Zeal (25 MP, uses the weapon to attack); Channeling Spirit (Full heal at the cost of all MP).

Monkee (Ninja or Pirate) – Monkees (a mispelling of Monkeys) could be played as during the Monkee War in August-September 2008. Players receive a curse if they wish to participate in the war, which turns them into either a Ninja Monkee or a Pirate Monkee. Both have the same moves, though some of the moves are called different names. While players are Monkees hats cannot be equipped, and equipped items (with the exception of pets) are not visible.

Pirate Monkee special moves (from left to right): Bomb Toss (15 MP, 100% critical hit), Cannon (20 MP, hits all enemies), Banana Mush (3-5 damage per turn), Shin Strike! (10 MP, 120% damage), Defend (35 MP, +80% Block), Heal (35 MP, 20% heal), Stun (20 MP, stuns opponent.) Note that when using the Stun move the Pirate Monkee first says, “Look over there! Come on, look over there! Sigh…” before actually attacking.

Ninja Monkee special moves (from left to right): Charlie’s Ninjas (15 MP, 100% critical hit), Knife Toss (20 MP, hits all enemies), Banana Star (3-5 damage per turn), Shin Strike! (10 MP, 120% damage), Defend (35 MP, +80% Block), Heal (35 MP, 20% heal), Smoke Bomb (20 MP, stuns opponent.)

Pumpkin King – This armor is only available during Mogloween, an annual event which happens in Lore every October. The event is clearly based on Halloween. The Pumpkin King armor can be obtained for 700 candy (during Mogloween only, of course) given to the Cauldron sisters. From then on 200 candy can be spent to unlock a new skill. Though the armor is available for about two weeks all the moves can be used by both free and DA players. Pumpkin King skills are listed by order of unlocking:

Shield (10 MP, +80 block for 2 turns); Vine Whip (10 MP, Ranged Nature attack); Thick Shell (20 MP, +25 resist to all elements for 5 turns); Scythe (15 MP, 3 weak hits with a chance to stun the target for 1 round); Health Candy (eat candy for 75 health apiece); Mana Candy (eat candy for 75 mana apiece); Multi Attack (15 MP, throw thorns at all enemies); Thorns (20 MP, thorn attack that hits all enemies, only available after successful attack or Multi Attack); Root (30 MP, stuns opponent for 3 rounds with 3-6 Nature damage while rooted); Pumpkin Bomb (20 MP, ranged fire damage with -25 boost for the target for 5 turns); Pumpkin Scale (10 MP, +5 Melee, Ranged and Magic defenses for 20 turns); Spikes (25 MP, -20 power for 5 rounds for target, only available on Rooted enemies); Final (40 MP, gauranteed critical hit); Eternal Night (35 MP, hits target 3 times with critical hits).
